We are pleased to announce the arrival
of Iago to the East Coast. We purchased Iago from the Preble's of Sunset Accoyo
two years ago at the MAPACA Jubilee. Iago exhibits the densest fleece we've seen
and the size you look for in a Macho. Imagine our surprise this year, when
attempting to register the first two cria from him on our farm that we found out
he wasn't who we thought he was!
After months of diligent work from Jo at ARI, through further blood testing, we
found out that Iago is not a Victor grandson, but actually an El Nino son!! That
was quite a mix-up...
So, we have simply changed the first two words of his name, to reflect his sire.
This is the same amazing animal we purchased at the show, who is now producing
striking offspring for us here in Pennsylvania. We knew we liked the look of
this guy! If you look at photos of El Nino, you'll see the resemblance.
Iago has a wonderful presence and a sweet personality- he is a gentleman and a
sweetheart! He's also very robust and healthy, with solid, sturdy legs, a
straight topline, and exceptional coverage- just a big, teddy-bear of a macho.
His cria are exhibiting the same sweet, easygoing temperaments! Iago is
producing well put together babies covered to the toes with gorgeous, fine,
crimpy fiber.
With his West Coast bloodlines, Iago has 3 striking cria on the ground to date.
His first hit the ground running- a gorgeous DF daughter, from a medium brown
dam! He also has a white daughter and a white son, both from white dams. All 3
offspring have very fine, dense, curly, bright fleeces that have us very
excited! We really can't wait to see his spring crias.
El Nino's Accoyo Iago is co-owned with our friends Kate & Scott McKelvie of
Alpacas of Sunset Fields. Please call to arrange a visit. We both do mobile and
on-farm breedings, and love to show off these crias!
We are offering the first 10 outside breedings for the amazingly low price of
$2000. 2 breedings remain at this price as of 9/1/09.
These are 2 Iago cria from our farm from
2007. See his amazing crop of 2009 cria here.
